Rapidcloud.io was founded to provide the fast and easy setup and deployment of Java applications to the cloud. We looked at the landscape and found the existing options either too expensive, too complicated or too inflexible.
We are offering beta users one year free on Rapidcloud ($120 value).
Our service allows developers to setup servers within their cloud accounts (AWS, Digital Ocean or Rackspace) and handles the configuration and server setup automatically. The servers are regular Ubuntu instances residing within our client's cloud accounts which they can SSH into themselves. This approach allows them to further customize each of their instances beyond our setup. Our goal however is to provide enough tools and setup so that any configuration needs are minimal.
Our deployment engine includes support for parallel deployment where we can launch new builds in a separate container and verify them before sending live traffic to it. This offers our clients are a great way to minimize the negative impacts from a deployment.
To support building a complex server infrastructure we include the creation of networks and security rules. This service means that applications are automatically provided credentials for any assigned network db as well as lists of available network services (redis or memcached). A network also has environment variables which are published to all participating servers providing an easy way to distribute configuration across a set of servers.
As part of mission to simplify the setup and management of servers, we support the easy installation of additional tools such as datadog for monitoring, log entries or papertail for log management as well as redis and memcached.
In order to provide the broadest possible support for the Java development community, we priced our services very competitively, allowing our clients to benefit from the low cost of cloud computing.
